Five Most Patriotic Movies on Amazon Prime Video India Right Now

Raazi

This movie was a solid 4.5/5 stars in my opinion. What I liked the most about this movie is that it portrays a young girl who spies for her country against all odds. The movie is based on a true story and it shed light on the unsung heroes of Indian history. The main character Sehmat left college, married and lived in Pakistan, so that she could gain intel about the upcoming war. The intel gathered by her and other spies helped India to get prepared for the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 and the Ghazi attack. The movie is based on a book called "Calling Sehmat." Alia Bhatt plays the role of the lead actress and she was able to represent what the real Sehmat would have felt like - scared, brave, patriotic, loving, dangerous, caring, human, selfless and a thousand more indescribable emotions. Other important characters in the movie were Sehmat's husband, her parents, her father-in-law. her brother-in-law, her brother-in-law's wife, a servant who worked in Sehmat's marital house, the officers that trained Sehmat and the other Indian spies who lived in Pakistan.

The Ghazi Attack

I would rate this movie to a be a 4.2/5 stars movie. This movie had a lot of logical action. There are many Indian movies which have action scenes that are illogical, but not this one. This movie had logical underwater action sequences which were thrilling to watch. The movie is based on true events and it shows the underwater war which happened between PNS Ghazi and INS Karanj. PNS Ghazi had intentions of attacking INS Vikrant by entering the shores of Vizag. The movie had 2 naval commanders: one who wanted to offend and another who wanted to defend. The death of one of them who was trying to save the other, led the latter to deploy methods of the former and finally bury the enemies in the sea. INS Karanj also saved some civilians who were attacked by PNS Ghazi.

Shershaah

This movie is about Vikram Batra, an Indian soldier who sacrificed his life in the Kargil war while trying to save his fellow soldiers. The movie shows how he met his girlfriend Dimple, how he climbed the ladder in his military career and his actions as a captain during the Kargil war. It showed how selfless, heroic and brave he was. Even after his death, till today, Dimple never got married, even though Vikram Batra's parents encouraged her to do so. She claims that she would rather live with his memories. Vikram Batra put others lives before his own and was awarded posthumously. I would rate this movie 5/5 stars because it kept me intrigued long after I had completed watching it. It kept me awake and wondering. This movie also is again based on true events.

Batla House

This movie is based on the Batla House encounter case which happened in Delhi in 2008. In the encounter two terrorists and a police inspector were killed. The case became a major subject of interest to the media and public in general. A lot of sympathy was shown for the alleged terrorists because they were college students. The public and media believed that the students were targeted and blamed just because they were Muslims and because the police wanted to show someone as the culprit of the serial bombings that happened in Delhi during that time. But in reality, the police had been tracing and tracking the criminals for a long time and was finally able to bring justice. The movie is based on true events and is a solid 4.25/5 stars in my opinion. The movie is shown from the perspective of Sanjeev Kumar Yadav - the police officer who majorly handled the case at the time. Other characters who were of major importance in the movie were Sanjeev's wife, a terrorist who escaped from Batla house and the terrorist's girlfriend.

Bell Bottom

The main role is played by Akshay Kumar in this movie. This movie was inspired by real events and it shows how a RAW agent motivated by personal loss, helps to save a plane that has been hijacked by people working for Pakistan's ISI. The main character's code name is 'Bell Bottom' and he lost his mother during a plane hijack and he has since been recruited as a RAW agent. When another plane is hijacked, Bell Bottom works with several other officers to capture the terrorists from Dubai and bring them to India where they are are punished. The films also has other characters which are of importance such as Bell Bottom's wife - Radhika, a contact in Dubai, Bell Bottom's mother - Raavi and the PM. I would rate this movie a 4/5 stars.
