The Accidental Time Machine - Part 1

A brilliant scientist called Dr. Wamsi had been working in the US for about 28 years now. His research had been dedicated towards discovering life of other planets or on other galaxies. Although he was an Indian, he had mixed well with the American community and was almost an American. He took on a side project on wormholes for fun until it went all haywire and he had a time machine but he was too scared to test it for what if he changed important historical events or changed the future of the world by mistake? Afterall, he had created this time machine too by mistake. You might think how can someone create a time machine by mistake? Well, let me explain. Dr. Wamsi had been studying wormholes on the side and he created a way to generate and stabilize wormholes temporarily. Dr. Wamsi was conducting experiments on these microscopic wormholes when an unexpected quantum interaction occurred. Dr. Wamsi accidentally adds a rare element into the mix while stabilizing a wormhole. This triggers a phenomenon similar to quantum entanglement. The element creates a connection between the past and the present. So a time machine is created. But Dr. Wamsi is skeptical to use it. But on the other hand, Dr. Wamsi wants to test his new accidental invention to see if it actually works. Suddenly the quantum entanglement unexpectedly begins to affect time itself. The wormhole starts to behave like a feedback loop, feeding information back into the past. This feedback loop amplifies, causing a rupture in the space-time continuum. As a result, a time portal forms inadvertently, and objects, including the Dr Wamsi's equipment and even the Dr. Wamsi himself, are pulled into the portal. They are thrust into different time periods, with no control over when or where they land. Thus Dr. Wamsi's dilemma on whether or not to use the time machine ends and he finds himself in 1961 London. Dr. Wamsi turns paranoid as he has no way to return back to his time period - 2023 and his location - the United States of America. So he does the best he can. He plans to contact the scientists in London and inform them that he is from the future and that he has landed here accidentally. He can ask them all to help him make a real time machine which will let him go back to his time period. So he marches to the nearby Redburn University and approaches Dr. Ramsdale - a physicist. He explains to Dr. Ramsdale about all his life in order to give Dr. Ramsdale a briefer context. Dr. Ramsdale mistakes the whole situation and thinks that Dr. Wamsi is a madman. Not wanting to cause any distress to Dr. Wamsi, Dr. Ramsdale plays along with Dr. Wamsi's apparent illusion and he says "Sure, sure, my dear sir. I do understand, I see you have travelled many miles and might I mention many years in order to be here. So surely I will aid you in your endeavor in making the perfect time machine. Let me guide you to our most advanced lab which has been built for this very purpose." Dr. Wamsi gets really excited and hopeful and follows Dr. Ramsdale. Dr. Ramsdale tells Dr. Wamsi to wait and Dr. Ramsdale whispers into the ears of a security guard "This man is mad. Please escort him out and do not let him into the university again." The guard does as he is told and Dr. Wamsi is right where he had started - nowhere. But Dr. Wamsi does not lose hope. After all, he is a scientist, he has extraordinary perseverance and grit like all other scientists. So he decides that he will try his luck at another university. Meanwhile, his family in the US in 2023 have reported him missing.
