Game-Changing Apps (Part 2)
MyFitnessPal
This app is a calorie tracker. In this app, you can set your height, weight, gender and weight goals, and it will give you your daily calorie count. Then you can track your calories through this app. You can put in what you ate for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Additionally, you can track your water intake and calories burnt through exercising. This app can help you reach your weight goals whatever they maybe - maintaining weight, gaining weight or losing weight. The app has a wide variety of foods. You can also add your recipes in the app.
Duolingo
This is a language learning app which is free. You can learn several languages such as German, French, Italian, Spanish, etc. The app uses an exercise based learning method. It uses images, words, voice, etc. It can help you become fluent in any language. It can help you learn to speak, read and write in any language you choose. I think the key to learning a language with this app is consistency. Although, I also feel like this app is alone not enough to learn a language. We need an even more immersive experience like actively conversing in the language, reading regularly in the language and also watching movies/shows in that language.
Zero
This app lets you track your fasts. You can do several kinds of fasts such as circadian rhythm fasting (13 hours), intermittent fasting (16 hours), 18 hour fasts, 20 hour fasts, etc. You can also set custom fasts. The app also has challenges that you can participate in. You can also maintain your fasting streak in the app by fasting everyday. You also get badges for completing certain number of fasts and for maintaining a streak for certain number of days. Fasting has been proven to be healthy and a major booster for weight loss. So this app is really helpful if you want to lose weight.
