Series That I Saw Recently (Part 3)

Ginny and Georgia

This was an amazing series. I really loved it. I especially liked the character of Georgia. She was so badass. Her story was sad though, she was raped by her step father, she ran away from home, got pregnant as a teenager, lived in poverty for years, committed two murders, did fraudulent activities, etc. But everything she did was to keep her children - Ginny and Austin safe. On the other hand, I did not like the character of Ginny much. She was very rude to her mother and thought she knew best when she clearly did not. I also really liked some of the side characters such as Ginny's dad, Ginny's best friend - Maxine, Ginny's ex - Hunter Chen, Maxine's mom - Ellen, etc. I feel like some of the cast were really pretty like for example Maxine and Georgia, they looked like people from magazine covers. The story was also thrilling for me. I would recommend this series. It has two seasons and it is available on Netflix.

Wednesday

This was another great series. It is centered around Wednesday as she goes to a school called Nevermore academy (a school for outcasts)  which was attended by her parents years ago. I really liked some of the characters in this show such as Morticia, Thing, Gomez, Enid, etc. I especially like Enid's cheerful personality and colorful eyeshadow designs. What I found unrealistic about the series was that even though Wednesday was so cold and did not want to be friends with anyone, people wanted to be friends with her. Anyway, so the story is about Wednesday solving a local murder mystery and uncovering the truth about a scandal in which her parents were involved years ago.

The Exorcist

This series is based on the 1971 novel 'The Exorcist' by William Peter Blatty. But it is a modern take on the book. The series has two seasons, each one having a different story. The first season is about the Rance family. The family thinks their daughter Katherine is possessed but the truth is that their daughter Casey is the one who is possessed. Katherine is grieving her friend's death and acts distant, so her mother thinks she is possessed because she also heard some demonic noises. But soon they call a father Tomas who makes them realize that Casey is possessed. Father Tomas teams up with Father Marcus whom he sees in his dream. They both try to rescue Casey by performing an exorcism but the devil gets into Casey's mother - Angela. Marcus and Tomas find that there is something bigger going on, people are willfully giving their bodies to the devil so that evil would prevail. Overall, this season was good but mainly I wanted to watch it because the same actor who acts as Georgia in 'Ginny and Georgia' acts as Katherine in this season of this series. The second season is about a guy who runs a home where he has several orphans, his wife committed suicide recently and he is on the verge of being possessed - he sees a girl that no one else sees. He then gets possessed and tries to kill his children but Marcus and Tomas come to the rescue. The series also has other amazing characters like Brother Bennett, Mouse, etc.
