Books I Have Been Reading Recently (Part 7)
How to Lose a Guy Before Christmas by A. J Pine
This book is about a gal Lucy who is unable to go home for Christmas because her flight is cancelled due to a blizzard. She somehow gets a ride through a rideshare app and is excited that she gets to go home for Christmas. She expects that her partner on this road trip would be a stranger but to her surprise it is a guy whom she ghosted a few months ago. She is obviously now wanting this trip to be over soon but it is a long ride made even longer by the snowstorm. The story is about how they reconnect I guess? I don't know much about the book since I just read the blurb and the prologue. I am excited for it though since it is a Christmassy book and it has some good reviews on Goodreads. I am listening to it on Audible.
The Black Pages by Nnedi Okorafor
I am reading this book through Kindle and this is the second book in the Black Stars Amazon Original Stories series. The book is about a guy who returns to his hometown but finds that there is a problem going on, people being killed and books being hidden. He also starts seeing unusual things like how his friends and he had seen when they were younger. I have read only up until this point but I am liking the book so far, seems to be a great read like the first book in the series. The first book in the series is written by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and the story has gender role reversal, it was a very interesting book.
