Reviews of Recently Released Movies (Part 7)

Singapore Saloon

I saw this movie in theatres in January 2024 when it was released and it was kind of a nice movie. It is about a guy who takes a loan from his father in law to build a saloon. But he faces many troubles in his business and even contemplates suicide. How he faces the struggles and conquers all odds is what make up the rest of the story. I do recommend watching the movie, it has some values which we can learn like perseverance, grit and not giving up. It also teaches us to follow our passion and it teaches us how to sell against all odds. Great movie, must watch at least once. If you want to read my tweet about the movie, go here. I'd rate this movie a 3.75/5 stars.

I watched this movie also in theatres in February 2024 when it was released. The movie is about a writer whose books are like predictions because whatever she is writing is happening in real life. So some people are trying to catch her because of this, because they want more predictions. But the movie has a big twist. I did not like some of the action scenes in the movie and I also found the plot a bit confusing. Overall, if you are a fan of action, you might like this movie. I would give this movie a 3/5 stars. Odavum Mudiyadhu Oliyavum Mudiyadhu

I watched this movie too in theatres when it came out in December 2023. I went for it because it was of the horror-comedy genre which is one of my favourite genres when it comes to Tamil movies. But the movie was a big disappointment, I could not relate with the characters and there was not much happening, people just kept running here and there. I actually gave an accurate review of this movie in a tweet. So I don't recommend this movie, it's kind of boring. If you still want to watch it though, it is now available on Amazon Prime Video. I'd give this movie a 2/5 stars.
