Series That I Saw Recently (Part 4)
The Village
This is a Tamil language series available on Amazon Prime Video. I watched it in 2023 around the time it was released. It has 1 season with 6 episodes until now. Each episode is 40 minutes long. So you can complete the series pretty soon. There might be more seasons which get added to this series. The series is a mixture of many genres, horror, sci-fi, action - to name a few. The story is about a guy whose family goes missing in a village which is believed to be haunted, he seeks the help of three men to go into the village and search for his wife and kid. Meanwhile, a handicapped heir to a pharmaceutical company sends a team to retrieve something from the same village. I did enjoy the series although it gets gory in some scenes. I would rate it a 3.5/5 stars (-1 for violence and goriness).
Young Sheldon
This is an English language series available in Amazon Prime Video. It is about the story of the younger version of Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. It follows many characters such as Sheldon's mother - Mary, Sheldon's elder brother, Sheldon's twin sister - Missy, Sheldon's Memaw - Connie, Sheldon's dad, the various boyfriends of Connie, Pastor Jeff, etc. The series is not yet complete and has 7 seasons as of now with the 7th season having only 1 episode as of now. The other seasons have 20+ episodes with each episode being 20 minutes long. I do enjoy this series and I would give it a 4/5 stars. My only complaint with the series is that as the series is progressing, we are seeing less and less of Sheldon content and more content about the other characters. This series also has several genres such as drama and comedy.
Class of '07
This is an English language series available on Amazon Prime Video. It has one season with 8 episodes. Each episode is 30 minutes long. The series is about a group of women who are there at their old school for a high school reunion. While they are there, the whole land around them starts flooding with water and all they can see for miles and miles is water and nothing else. They take refuge in their school and find ways to get food, make toilets and generate electricity. There is also a lot of drama as their teenage memories resurface and old quarrels are remembered. I did enjoy this series, would give it a 3.75/5 stars. This series also has multiple genres such as comedy, drama and young adult.
